Wash Day Recap | Stretched Hair

Hey everyone! Here is the recap of Tuesday's wash day.

[1]  Pre-pooed with my mixture of Hair Trigger Growth Elixir and  JBCO under a plastic cap for 45 minutes .  I did a scalp massage for about 10 minutes and then put on a plastic cap. This mixture tends to get a little messy, so I always make sure I'm wearing a towel around my neck.
[2]  Co-Washed with Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Co-Wash Conditioning Cleanser
[3]  Protein Treatment: I applied ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor and put on a plastic cap. I left it on for about 5 minutes before rinsing it out.
[4] Deep conditioned with Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque
[5]  ACV + Water Rinse after I washed out my conditioner. I massaged the mixture for a few minutes and left it in.
[6] T-shirt dried my hair for about 30 minutes
[7] I applied my leave-in conditioners:  Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner, Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Restorative Conditioner and ApHogee Keratin Green Team  Restructurizer
[8]  Finger Detangled
[9] Applied  Shea Moisture's Curling Custard, Marguerite's Magic Restorative Cream  and JBCO.
[10] Stretched my hair using bobby pins and Goody Ouchless Hair Ties.

This week I started playing around with the multi-pineapple method. I tried twisting my hair before bed every night but I realized that it wasn't for me. So far using the bobby pins and hair ties have worked. I love that my hair isn't matted in the morning and that it keeps my hair stretched. I plan on replacing the hair ties with scrunchies in the near future.

  1. That multi-pineapple method seems interesting! I only incorporated the pineapple method when my hair was BSL a few years ago. Never thought about doing it as a way to preserve wash-n-gos and twist outs. How did you hair feel after the protein treatment this time? Did you get the same results?

  2. Hi Kristal,

I thought so too. I don't have any scrunchies yet but I plan to pick some up this weekend. So far, using bobby pins and hair ties have worked. My hair was matted and getting more knots. So I figured I would give this a try. I'll enjoy the day when I can do the pineapple method with longer hair :).

My hair felt great! It felt stronger after I rinsed it out. I'm still noticing less shedding on the days when I do it. I'm definitely sticking to the bi-weekly protein treatments for now. My hair needs it. Have you used the protein treatment again? How did it go?

  3. I love the steps you used. I need to try the ACV to see how my hair likes it.
