I can't believe there are only 6 days until Christmas! Am I prepared? Not at all. But, luckily this year the hubby and I decided not to go all out with gifts for each other. So, I still have time :).
My second wash day yesterday was short and sweet. The hubby and I have been pretty busy as of late with family visits, hanging out with friends and other adventures. I'm glad I was able to squeeze in a wash day last night before we jet off for a little weekend getaway. Now, let's get into my wash day recap.
1] Pre-pooed with my mixture of Hair Trigger Growth Elixir and JBCO under a plastic cap for 30 minutes . As usual, I massaged my scalp for about 10 minutes before putting on my cap.
[2] Co-Washed with Shea Moisture Coconut Hibiscus Co-Wash Conditioning Cleanser
[3] ACV + Water Rinse after I washed out my conditioner. I massaged the mixture for a few minutes and left it in.
[4] T-shirt dried my hair for about 30 minutes
[5] Detangled -- I actually didn't detangle, not officially anyway. I sort of do this when I pre-poo getting rid of the shed hairs, etc.
[6] I applied my leave-in conditioners: Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-In Conditioner and Shea Moisture's Curling Custard.
[7] Put on my satin scarf and my bonnet before heading to bed.
* I forgot to apply my ApHogee Keratin Green Team Restructurizer but I did that before I moisturized my hair this morning.
** Did I mention I did this wash day while some of our friends were over?! We went out to dinner with friends and I planned on washing my hair after. However, our friends came back to our house but I still needed to wash my hair. I had already pushed my wash day back a day and I wasn't going to do it again. That's what you call dedication! Lol.
For the past week or so I've really focused on experimenting with hairstyles. Now that my hair has grown out (from my cut back in September), I can really do a lot more with my hair. I'm planning on doing a series of posts about low manipulation hairstyle in the near future. Unfortunately, because of time restraints last night, I had to wear my fro today. I'll probably wear my afro out the rest of the weekend and go back to experimenting on my next wash day (Sunday). It gives me an excuse to wear my hair out and give my fro some love.

After my last wash day, I am all for short and sweet wash days. Love your twa. 😊
ReplyDeleteI loved reading about your salon visit. I'm glad it turned out well and that wig is gorgeous! Thank you :)!
DeleteThanks for stopping by.
Great simple wash day chica! Do you find that the SM Curling Custard gives you definition or do you use it for moisture?
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your #washdayexperience!

Thanks, KLP! I think the SM Curling Custard gives great definition. For moisture, I really like CD's Marguerite's Magic Restorative Cream. I usually apply it after the Curling Custard. I didn't do it on this wash day but I did apply it the next morning. Have you tried either of these products before?
DeleteOh, the simple wash days... I am looking forward to that Tuesday. I bet that massage is so good for your scalp. One day I won't be so lazy... Lol. I look forward to see what styles you create! Heaven knows I breathe low manipulation. :-)
ReplyDeleteSometimes it feels great not having so many steps on wash day. But today's wash day will be a little longer. I need to do a protein treatment. The scalp massage is my favorite part of wash day :). Thanks, it's been fun playing around with different looks. Plus, it keeps my hands out of my hair for a few days. Lol.
