Wash Day | Oh hello there!

My new job has me so busy that I haven't been keeping up with my wash day posts. But, don't worry I'm still taking care of my hair. Last week's wash day went well but since I can't find Aubrey Organics GBP Conditioner in stores, I decided to use the Aphogee Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor.  All was well until I started braiding my hair in my recent do. My hair was stiff and a little hard. The only changes to my wash day regimen were: using the Aphogee Reconstructor and using Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-in Conditioner. Other than that, my wash day was the same. It's weird because I've used both of these products before and I don't remember my hair feeling like that.

Right before I started my wash day
For Sunday's wash day, I decided to leave out the Aphogee Reconstructor and Black Vanilla to see if my hair would go back to normal.

My arsenal for wash day (my red spray bottle is hidden beyond the other products)

Pre-pooed with my Aloe Vera Juice and Vegetable Glycerin and The Chocolate Antidote by Tangles and Beyond.  I'm a huge fan of Tangles and Beyond, so when she dropped this new version of The Antidote, I knew I had to try it.

Co-Washed with  Detangling Co-Wash by Mielle Organics in four sections.

Tangles & Beyond Monthly Strawberry Protein Remedy- Since I'm out of my weekly protein treatment and I don't want to use Aphogee, I went with my other favorite. I've been using this for a couple of months and I love it! I plan to do a review of it sometime this summer. I like to apply this to my hair and add my heated cap for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it out.

Deep Conditioned with Babassu Oil and Mint Deep Conditioner  under my Hot Head cap for 30-35  minutes. I decided to use my Eternally In Amber Rainbow Shampoo Comb to detangle my hair.

ACV Rinse-- I did an ACV (diluted with water) rinse. I massage the mixture into my scalp for about 5 minutes and then rinsed my hair out with lukewarm water.

T-shirt dried my hair for about 10 minutes. I put my hair in big chunky braids so they could dry. Once my hair was about 90% dry, I applied my spritz mix,  Mint Almond , Jia's Carribean DreamCreme and braided my hair in my recent go-to style.

  1. I really have been wanting to try the Mielle Organics products. Trying to hold out til I finish up other things.

  2. I wanted to love Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-in Conditioner but my hair HATED it. Just like you, it left my hair stiff and feeling dry. I concluded that my hair just doesn't like protein laden spray leave-ins. I hope that your hair was better behaved this wash day without it!

    Thanks for sharing!

    1. I think that my hair doesn't like the spray either. My hair went back to normal once I left the spray out of the equation.

      Thanks for stopping by!
