Now that I've been using the Mielle Organic Vitamins for 8 months, I wanted to share my results and thoughts on the vitamins.
Here are my starting results and pics from my 3 month check-in
Skin: As I stated in my 3 month update, the vitamins have been great for my skin. I still haven't experienced any breakouts or pimples from the vitamins. Based on my experience, the vitamins brightened my skin and made it healthier.
Hair health and growth: Have I experienced a crazy amount of growth? No. Is my hair growing and healthier than before? Definitely.
Part of my reasoning for taking hair vitamins was to promote hair growth. Since I started taking the vitamins, my hair has gotten thicker (which is amazing because my hair was thick to begin with) and my hair is longer. My hair looks and feels healthier, which is great.
I absolutely love these vitamins! I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to improve the overall health of their hair.

Have you taken the vitamins? If so, did you like them?
My new job has me so busy that I haven't been keeping up with my wash day posts. But, don't worry I'm still taking care of my hair. Last week's wash day went well but since I can't find Aubrey Organics GBP Conditioner in stores, I decided to use the Aphogee Two Minute Keratin Reconstructor. All was well until I started braiding my hair in my recent do. My hair was stiff and a little hard. The only changes to my wash day regimen were: using the Aphogee Reconstructor and using Carol's Daughter Black Vanilla Leave-in Conditioner. Other than that, my wash day was the same. It's weird because I've used both of these products before and I don't remember my hair feeling like that.
Right before I started my wash day
For Sunday's wash day, I decided to leave out the Aphogee Reconstructor and Black Vanilla to see if my hair would go back to normal.
My arsenal for wash day (my red spray bottle is hidden beyond the other products)
Pre-pooed with my Aloe Vera Juice and Vegetable Glycerin and The Chocolate Antidote by Tangles and Beyond. I'm a huge fan of Tangles and Beyond, so when she dropped this new version of The Antidote, I knew I had to try it.
Co-Washed with Detangling Co-Wash by Mielle Organics in four sections.
Tangles & Beyond Monthly Strawberry Protein Remedy- Since I'm out of my weekly protein treatment and I don't want to use Aphogee, I went with my other favorite. I've been using this for a couple of months and I love it! I plan to do a review of it sometime this summer. I like to apply this to my hair and add my heated cap for 15-20 minutes before rinsing it out. Deep Conditioned with Babassu Oil and Mint Deep Conditioner under my Hot Head cap for 30-35 minutes. I decided to use my Eternally In Amber Rainbow Shampoo Comb to detangle my hair. ACV Rinse-- I did an ACV (diluted with water) rinse. I massage the mixture into my scalp for about 5 minutes and then rinsed my hair out with lukewarm water. T-shirt dried my hair for about 10 minutes. I put my hair in big chunky braids so they could dry. Once my hair was about 90% dry, I applied my spritz mix, Mint Almond , Jia's Carribean DreamCreme and braided my hair in my recent go-to style.

With summer just around the corner, it's the perfect time to start thinking about my hair plans. Although I'm looking forward to rocking my fro every once in awhile, I have a three-step plan to keep my hair healthy and thriving this summer.
1. Rock Low-Manipulation Styles
I love rocking my afro but I find that wearing my hair in low-manipulation styles worst best for me, especially during the summer. Since I'm currently working on another television show--so much for a hiatus--I want to wear styles that don't require a lot of fuss. And I also want styles that don't take too much of my time. So here are the styles I plan on rotating this summer.
I haven't tried this one yet, but I can't wait to give it a try.
My current go-to style. Want to see my attempts at this style? Go here and here .
You all know how much I love this style!!! I haven't done it recently, but I will definitely be going back to this. I want to try wearing my mini twists in a top bun like Jenell.
One of my goals is to improve my braiding skills. That being said, this is a style that I will attempt this summer. Wish me luck!
2. Keeping My Hair Moisturized
As someone with naturally dry hair, I have to be really proactive about keeping my hair moisturized. Climate also plays a part in how dry my hair becomes. Portland, believe it or not, can be really hot and sometimes dry during the summer. My plan is to continue using leave-in and deep conditioners (which are already in my hair care regimen) that provide additional moisture for my hair.
3. Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle
In my opinion, this is probably one of the most important ways to achieve healthy hair. In addition to taking my Mielle Organics Vitamins, I plan on drinking lots of water, eating a balanced diet (curbing the processed sugars and eating clean) and exercising. Even though I'm on another show--i'm not on full-time (thank goodness!), I'm making fitness a priority. Working 70 hours on Grimm for about 9 months really changed my work out schedule A LOT. But I have more time and more energy to fit it in.
What about you? What are your hair plans for the summer? How do you prep?
I've been bad about posting as of late but my hair is still thriving. Here is my latest wash day recap from my latest wash day.
My post LA hair
Pre-pooed with my Aloe Vera Juice and Vegetable Glycerin and The Chocolate Antidote by Tangles and Beyond. I'm a huge fan of Tangles and Beyond, so when she dropped this new version of The Antidote, I knew I had to try it.
My hair felt so soft and moisturized. So far I love this product, which doesn't surprise me because Ashley's products are amazing!

No Protein Treatment today- I'm still out of my go-to weekly protein treatment Aubrey Organics GPB Glyocen Protein Balancing Conditioner. Btw, does anyone know where I can find it locally? I'm only finding it online :( . Luckily, I did a protein treatment before my LA trip, so I think my hair will be okay missing a week or two. Deep Conditioned with Babassu Oil and Mint Deep Conditioner under my Hot Head cap for 30 minutes. Before I rinsed it out, I used my fingers to gently detangle my hair in the shower. ACV Rinse-- I did an ACV (diluted with water) rinse. I massage the mixture into my scalp for about 5 minutes and then rinsed my hair out with lukewarm water. T-shirt dried my hair for about 10 minutes. Then I put my hair in big chunky braids and pinned them up into an updo so I could go to pole. After pole class, I opted for an quick and easy hairstyle for the week. As much as I love my semi-mini braids, I didn't have the energy or time (I had an early call time for work the next day) to braid my hair.
My updated Braid and Tuck style
I am really proud with how this hairstyle turned out. The last time I did this style was about a year ago and I think my technique has gotten better. Not to mention, my hair is longer this time around.
My braid and tuck from February 2015
